About Me.
Born and raised in Utah, I'm proud to call Lehi home. My wife and I are raising our three children in the Jordan Willows neighborhood, where we’re deeply invested in the future of this incredible community.

I began my journey in public service as a teenager when I joined the U.S. Army. I attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, then served a church mission in Taiwan before completing my undergraduate studies at BYU. I later earned a master’s degree in Global Affairs and International Security Studies from the University of Oklahoma.

For 12 years, I served as a U.S. diplomat with the Department of State, with overseas assignments in China, Japan, and Pakistan. I also spent eight years as an Army Reserve officer, continuing my commitment to service and national security.

Today, I work in the private sector as Regional Director for Asia Pacific at Strider Technologies, helping organizations navigate complex international challenges.

My background in service, diplomacy, and leadership has shaped my belief in thoughtful governance, strong communities, and the importance of protecting what makes Lehi great.
Why I am running for city council
My Principles:
Protecting quality of life – We need to measure our success as a city by how current residents are supported - not by how many people we can pack into Lehi.

Balancing development – Preserving our heritage of open spaces and ensuring growth doesn’t outpace infrastructure.

Strengthening our voice – Building better coordination with the state and neighboring cities to solve transportation issues faster.
My Pledges:
Total Transparency - I will explain every city council vote that I make, along with my logic and how I believe it will benefit the citizens of Lehi.

No Special Interests - I will not accept favors or campaign contributions from developers.

Green Space over Density - Lehi residents overwhelmingly support preserving and expanding our parks and green areas, and I will vote to support the voice of you and your families.
The Issues
Lehi is at an inflection point.
The character of our city is at stake. We live in an amazing community, but we have real problems to solve—and the next city council will determine the direction of Lehi for decades to come.
As I look to earn your vote, here are the issues that matter most to me and to families across Lehi:

Reduce Over-Development
Far too often, the City Council has approved zoning changes that increase high-density housing without adequate infrastructure. The result? Congested streets, longer commutes, and higher safety risks for drivers and pedestrians. We must be more strategic about growth, building only where infrastructure and public services can support it.

Invest in Parks and Green Space
Traverse and West Lehi lack adequate parks, and the east side still doesn’t have baseball fields. Families deserve access to recreation and open space no matter where they live. Let’s use PARC tax funding to expand and fairly distribute parks across the entire city.

Strengthen Public Safety
Lehi is 40 police officers short of where we should be, with only 67 officers compared to Orem’s 108. This shortage means slower response times and greater strain on our department. We need a long-term staffing plan that adds officers and civilian code enforcement to keep neighborhoods safe.
Too many areas—especially near schools—still lack sidewalks and crosswalks. A student was recently hit by a car where none existed. It’s time to prioritize safe routes for kids over pet projects.

Increase Transparency and Coordination
Residents deserve honesty and follow-through. The city promised sidewalks on 2300 W, then canceled part of the project without notifying neighbors. The 700 S bike lanes are unpopular and unsafe, yet residents weren’t heard.
From dust issues in Traverse to shifting development plans, people feel left out. I’ll make sure Lehi leaders communicate openly, listen carefully, and act transparently.

Keep Taxes Low
When the city replaces commercial zoning with high-density residential, we lose vital sales tax revenue. That puts pressure on residents to make up the difference. After decades of no property tax increases, the city has raised taxes in both 2022 and 2024.
We need to attract and retain retail and small business in the right areas to strengthen our tax base, reduce travel time for shopping, and keep taxes low for Lehi families.

Proactive Instead of Reactive
Lehi doesn’t have to solve every problem alone. Our state legislators, congressional representatives, UDOT, and neighboring cities want to collaborate with us on transportation, infrastructure, and growth planning. I already have the relationships and trust to get things done for Lehi, before problems escalate.
